Jonny Evans. Strongly linked by proper newspapers. Hmm.

Assuming he comes for, lets say, 6m upfront, then is he ?

Still can't wrap my head around him going from uniteds bench to ours.

United are in the market for World Class CB's and Evans wasn't even getting a look in whilst Smalling, Jones and Rojo were playing, so when the World Class players like Otamendi etc join he'll have no chance. He'll get games here.

Not their s*** ones, no. Are you saying every good team has a squad full to the brim of good players?

If you're happy with this then fair enough, I want better for Everton.

Hes played 200 times for a team thats won the league 3 times in his time there.

I bet you wanted to sign that no mark Van Dickil from Celtic didnt you, 2 words, Ron Vlaar.

What a guy with experience of playing regular champions league football and winning titles coming into his prime years?

Yeah I reckon that's a big improvement on Alcaraz and an over the hill Distin, don't you?
I've said this elsewhere when on the subject of Evans but my gripe of him is the fee. 8m in todays market can't be sniffed at but its still a chunk of change for us and is too much to spend on a back up.

....... and i really hope he's not playing around with the idea's of a back 3 in his head.

he's not as bad as everyone makes out, but he's too injury prone. the whole point of a backup is so that they can be readily called upon in times of need. someone who has his injury record throws that theory right of the window and will possibly see us with a centre back partnership of two youngsters should jagielka get injured.

i'd just about take evans for a minimal fee as 4th choice, especially with the guarantee of either or both of galloway and browning going out on loan. but that's never going to happen. it's a bit of a "safe" signing in the cleverley mould. ah well, see if it happens and then see how he does before fuming.
