It's all about competition for places and having different options.
As it stands we have no centre back options. I'm happy with this deal.

We are paying for a back up. Jagielka and Stones are the first choice pairing, so Evans is a back up. There won't be rotation.

Not only that, Evans coming in stunts the chances of our youngsters getting games and coming through like Stones did.

And on top of that, we're paying bloody £8m - is that our record fee for a centre half? Not far off it.

Think the playmaker may go into August now, probably the last week or so. Winger I don't think we'll get unless we sell Kev. Think we may look to do a loan for a striker on deadline day, and perhaps a RB. Garbutt and Browning to go out on loan to Prem and Championship clubs respectively. Still think McGeady will be binned off if a half-decent offer comes our way.
