Overrated English goalkeeper lauded by the English media as some great new breed of ''Footballing'' goalkeeper who until before the international break had passing/kicking stats at a low 68% and the top keepers in the league were in the high to low 90% range.

He seems to let in easy goals where it's bread and butter for the likes of De Gea Alisson,Edison,Lloris who save those shots in their sleep.
 
It's a shame no one at Everton thought/realised he'd hit peak value after the world cup. I wasn't overly impressed with him last season. Albeit he was an improvement on what we'd had.

I'd have gone for Ben Foster and then looked to sell Pickford on.

He has a 67% save rate, which is pretty ordinary. He had three brilliant games at the World Cup (last 16, quarters and semis) which have probably inflated his ability. He just doesn’t command the area, and shots are often out of his reach.

Commanding the area on corners is non existent from him. I watch corners and don't expect he'll come for one. Throw in zonal marking and it's a problem.
 
Only young for a keeper, but I keep having this discussion with my lad he thinks he is really good, he is a decent shot stopper, but nothing special at anything else in my eyes, has been disappointing for a while now I think hope he comes through it.
