This is one of the strangest things ive read on here.

Tim Howard was an accomplished GK when he joined Everton. He wasn't as good as Martyn or Southall, but not many are. He was a better GK than this erratic lad we have now.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I've never seen him win a game for us by being unbeatable. Never seen him having one of those matches when he just cant be passed.

Hilarious how he's being slated for not being as good as Nev.
Very few ever have, or will, reach the level of Neville Southall.

If anybody was asked to name an all time, best ever 11, then Nev would be amongst those mentioned to keep goal.

To lament Pickford for not being at that level is ridiculous IMO.
There are footballers and there are footballing Gods. Nev is defo the latter.

Agreed entirely. Big Nev was fantastic yet even he had the snipers out for him at times. At roughly the same age as Pickford he was out on loan at Port Vale, so let's just see how he develops.

Pickford may not be the best but he's good enough for now and will get better. I do have reservations about his size but too many blues quick to criticise him.

Doesn't mean it's not a disadvantage. I love JP but it's this and the command of his area which are his weak points. As he says he gets around his lack of height with the spring that he has. But if he had Courtois' frame, I don't think he'd be playing for us.
