We’ve got some really charitable fans. Sorry not having ‘it’s a mistake, move on, beat them next time’. It’s f**king unforgivable at that stage of a derby game. Trying to be a smart arse instead knocking it out and dealing with the corner.
No mate, it's "OK" because he made a save earlier in the game. Apparently.

These people are all very balanced and level headed. They dont feel the need to condemn a player who just cost us a massive result at Anfield. Congratulations to them. They win the "rational" debate.

That must be some consolation to them. I'm delighted for them. Meanwhile the rest of us rightly chew our 'kin arms off in frustration.

Fantastic save in the one on one with Shaqiri, situations like that are what he’s one of the best about at.

That big dirty horrible looping ball that looks it could sneak under the cross bar in the 96th minute of the game with attackers coming in at you is the exact situation you don’t want to see Pickford in and where his lack of height can be exposed.

Tough one to take, the hardest one since their last winner. And the one before that, and the other one before that. It was completely avoidable but we need to start making team performances like that away from home count.

However our performances against Arsenal, Chelsea, United and this shower have all been away from home and shown we’re on a level that we haven’t been for a long time and we’re gonna be beating them when they have to come to our place.

Why do people think he’s arrogant?

Do you actually know him?

He takes unnecessary risks because he is very confident. There's a fine line between confidence and arrogance. Not doing the sensible and prudent thing in touching it over for a corner was border line arrogant. He talks about not talking risks. Well that was a huge one that cost us dearly.

He has all the tools. But he makes mental brain farts. Humility goes a long way in pro sport because these things have a habit of biting you.

It's still good we have him. We couldn't realistically get anyone better. But he must learn from today.

Hahahahaha you've been in thread hibernation waiting until he made a mistake to push your agenda on signing another goalkeeper. Bet you were chuffed he made that mistake. Being right is more important than the result isn't it Dave? What's your internet points tally at now then?

Great. Well done. I'm sure you feel better backing Pickford. Great stuff.

Glad you're over the derby loss after his enormous dropped bollock. I wish I was.

Bad gaffe but the timing of it exacerbates the reaction. Misjudged an awkward spinning freak ball which then took an equally unlikely path to drop where it did. Let's not make death threats, wish cancer on his family and ship him out to Turkey just yet.

Still think he's a boss keeper so won't bash him but understand why people are. Hard to take that man

Still got faith hell bounce back and continue to be boss

He's a good keeper Toff who always looks like he's got a mistake in him. He has kept us in games as a shot stopper, but if he had been severely punished for the times he has had a brain fart since he's been with us, then we might look at him in a different light, but luckily for him and us he has got away with most of them brain farts.

When was the last time he looked like he was going to make a mistake Lou? Because the last time I remember was West Ham.

Today, he didn't look like he'd make that mistake.

If a keeper makes a mistake, it'll cost the team. See Karius. See De Gea.

Yes, he has a long way to go and his over-confidence at times gets the better of him. I don't think that mistake today was arrogance, or cockiness. It's just a mistake. An error in judgement. He thinks he can help it over and ends up getting it all wrong because of the flight of the ball (the 1/30000000) chance that it would hit that exact spot, btw.

Devils club.

Name me one keeper that doesn’t make any mistakes.
He has to have that confidence or he wouldn’t be as good as he is.

Sadly today that meant an absolute howler.

Hopefully this will bring he back down to earth, think he was starting to believe his own hype, too over confident with his post match interviews in recent weeks.

And yes he is a top quality keeper who will get us more points than what he will cost us.
