Nothing to do with luck and surprised he's even thinking like that. Just do the basic, simple thing instead of something flashy and reckless and we get deserved point. Horrible mistake in our biggest game of the season. Wins against Newcastle, Watford aren't making me feel any better about this one.

We'll feel a lot better if we pick up 6 points in the next 2 games mate.

I think people are being harsh and I don't think it's as big a mistake as is being portrayed, there are a lot of factors for me that don't make it as simple as it's being made out. It's a slice that goes straight up and down with a lot of back spin that causes the ball to come back in to play instead of going out and to then bounce off the bar again. Look at the spin on the ball n thats in super slow motion.

Another typical Everton thing to do. They’ve done so many over the years that I just don’t love the club anymore. Hurt to much and the feelings aren’t there. Will always support the blues but they’ve hurt me to much it just doesn’t feel the same anymore? Hope that changes
This should result in a permanent ban imo.

No he didn't, not at all.

There was absolutely no sign of a mistake coming. It was a fluke. The ball literally, by the laws of physics, should have gone out of play even with Pickford's touch.

He's to blame, he knows it, but it was a moment - a few seconds - of pure madness.

I´m coming round more to this way of thinking now the immediate rage has subsided. Only us at Anfield.

PICKFORD

“It was a freak one, really. It had hit the bar twice and I tried to flick it over. The ball spun and as I tried to flick it over, my hand hit the bar. It’s unfortunate but I am strong mentally.

“I just want to say sorry to the Everton fans. I think you could see our progression as a group, the chances we created and the football we played. That’s a positive but what can I do? There is always a case as a goalkeeper if you make an error it will lead to a goal. Unfortunately, it has been me today but I will be ready for Newcastle on Wednesday. We know we held our own against a good Liverpool side for 96 minutes. I will say sorry to the Everton fans again because I know how much it means to them. As players, we know how much it means to us. You make mistakes every now and again. It’s not something you can learn and train and get better from. It’s just a freak incident.”

Good goalie who makes great saves and silly mistakes. Fortunately the mistakes are fewer than his saves. Cost us big time today.
