No, not the Man City results, just the Liverpool resuls. They got a shot in the arm from that derby great escape.

And Everton's form cratered after his calamity...just that little matter too.

Most people recognise that impact. That's why we all acknowledge things like "turning points" in football. His mistake was definitely one of them.

If Pickford tips that ball over the bar and we come out with a point, Liverpool would most likely still be top at this point and we would most likely still be 7th-11th. In the grand scheme, I really don’t think it makes that much difference.

There's no point trying to defend Pickford to Dave, as far as he's concerned Pickford is the worst goalie ever and he singlehandedly won Liverpool the league.

The swine would still be top even if we'd drawn because they're at their peak right now.

I know. Not even trying to defend him, I thought it was a terrible error of judgement and it let the team down, but I’ve managed to get over it. He’s actually played okay since - the team haven’t.

I doubt it. Liverpool would have had a morale sapping draw that felt like a loss. In actuality we had the loss and it carried over into easily winnable home games. I think we'd be 6th right now if we take that point off Liverpool...which we should have done before Pickford's calamity.

I wonder what he has in store for us today? Another howler plus an afternoon of slamming the ball into the stands I'm guessing.

Think this may have been true in years gone by, but I don't think a bunch of Brazilians, Colombians and Portuguese who have been at the club a few months are that annoyed by losing to the RS.

They can appreciate a derby day defeat. All nationalities know what that feels like.

And the most famous and significant “turning point” in Everton history came at Oxfird United’s Manor Ground in January (or happen February) in 1984 :)
