He spends too much time talking and shouting at his defenders, he wants to calm down and concentrate on the actual play, he would be a better 'keeper if he did. He thinks he is a lot better than he actually is.

Not really. It's like saying an outfield player is capable of kicking a ball fantastically well, which isn't the case for many. I'd agree that lots of keepers have good reactions and athleticism, as Pickford does, but I still think he's better than most in those areas. Doesn't necessarily balance out his weaknesses though.

Wonder what Neville Southall makes of it. I think the fellas hyperactive in the first instance..have a decko at him in the tunnel pre match - wound up like a rip-rap, grimacing and knocking the drinks back as though he was in the desert. Maybe theyre energy caffeine drinks... I dont know. He needs to calm down anyway and gain some maturity as these defenders are unstable enough without kamikazi immature antics behind them.

I agree. For me the best keepers these days are ridiculously calm under pressure. All that energy he's got going on can't help his decision making.

He isn't taking responsibility for the many mistakes he makes, just tries to shrug them off, he's not learning either, a good shot stopper yes: a very good goalkeeper , not at the moment, and unlikely to the way he carries on.
If he starts on Wednesday then that will be a massive indictment on Silva.

I'm not a knee jerker, but wouldn't be too against him being dropped. I know stek ain't great, but maybe Pickford needs a couple of weeks off, have his first break for over a year and just re-assess. Still think he's a fantastic long term option for us.
