We aren't saying every goal conceded is his fault individually, were pointing out that every goal conceded all the fans label it 'unstoppable' when in truth it very much was stoppable. It's his job to stop it, but if you dig up his stats he's never had a good record of doing so.

He concedes at an alarming rate - blame the defence all you want but he has in fact also made more errors leading to goals than any other keeper this season etc too.

Robles was very good for us and improving all the time in his last season and didn't deserve to be ousted like he was.

Do they aye? I don't. So take that up with whomever said they are all unstoppable. He's left one on one thanks to that utter gorm Keane and people rush on here to have a go.

Where are those stats? Have they been posted on this thread?

He was okay for us. And I'd have kept him rather than Stekelenburg. But we did need a new keeper.

And he also saves a certain goal in the majority of matches because our defence allows a free shot on him. You can say that's what he is there to do but the saves he makes would not be made by the majority of the keepers in the league. Pickford's conceded so many in his career due to the defences that he has had in front of him.

He obviously makes mistakes like all keepers do, and is not perfect but having Michael Keane, Cuco Martina, Ashley Williams, Seamus Coleman and that Sunderland defence is going to mean that a lot of shots and goals are going in.

Okay, I'll bite.

You want Stek in. Or the untested academy goalkeeper?

And what exactly did he do today that he deserves dropping for?

And also, you'll probably be happy on Saturday when Pickford 'gets a rest' then.

Let's see how the goalkeeper picked for the cup does. Pickfords ego needs bringing down a peg or two. Him missing the next league game would do it, I think.

You haven't told me what he's done today that he deserves dropping for?

Or against Brighton, or against Burnley, for that matter...

Already did, its just that after one is put to bed other posters come back for more until the stats show them otherwise.

All the stats mentioned are somewhere in here but if you want the errors leading to goals stat then currently the leaders are...
3 - Pickford, Leno, Begovic

I disagree we needed a new keeper. Especially when actually what we really needed was a striker to replace the 20 odd goals a season we lost from Lu.

Nothing misleading about it, instead of people constantly trying to make excuses which constantly get disproven, look at the common denominator

When have they been disproved like?

Thread is full of hyperbolic guff.

Common denominator over two seasons has been a shocking defence. Last season Keane and Jagielka were woeful as was Coleman, and Baines formed dropped. This season Silva doesn't know his best defence, and keeps chopping and changing. Coleman is still woeful. Keane is largely woeful. Mina and Zouma are hit and miss.

Is it a back 3 this week? Back 4? Dunno.

Not being funny but those players other than Keane who is supposed to be an upgrade, not to mention all the other money spent since, all played in front of Robles.

Again, same defence I front of Joel and stevklenburg if not even worse ones and they still concede at a lower rate, fact. Pickford also produces the most individual errors out be any keeper in the league, that's something you can't put on his defence

3? My word. I take it all back. Sell the swine. Davek's main man Begovic in there as well ha.

We needed both.
