For christs sake he hasn't done anything wrong since Spurs (I think) and even had a couple of good games in between. But yeah any opportunity to have a moan just because he is out of form, like the rest of the squad.

I forgot to take account of that. I take back what I've said. He's only almost 25 years old. So he has every right to be rubbish and crater our season single handedly and have one of the worst goals conceded record for any goalkeeper in the top flight.

What do you mean? I said I want him sold and replaced with Begovic.

Because he's loads better and that.
 
Should have reacted quicker to Digne's own-goal. Made two crucial saves in the first half v S'ton. Meh.

He's really not the issue. We've got plenty of them and he has made mistakes and will need to learn from them - which he more often than not does - but there's serious issues elsewhere.

People can point to the derby, and rightly so, but ultimately it's not just Pickford's fault that the entire club seemed to crumble when that happened. Just shows how toxic the place can be.
 

Even with his mistakes, we're better off with him for 5 years than a 2-3 yr goalkeeper that needs replacing. We could improve, and if he understands that in a top 4 team you're very unlikely to get more than 2-3 yrs, depending on the manager, he can spend his career with us, get into Europe often, and he's already got the England position as long as he keeps improving.

I wonder what our goalkeeper coach is like - that will make a big difference to him.

Would you really like to replace him? Or you think he needs to improve. I don't think we can make him no.2 now, but if we actually got a senior GK to challenge him, it might help, as I think he realises that Stek and Virginia are not realistic. As we progress into the top 6 next year or the year after, we will need the type of squad which has 2 proper keepers. At that time an old master, like a Cech type keeper (Not him, but you know what i mean) might become available, or a Begovic, Ospina, Burnley have got 3 keepers..etc

We need to sell this guy before everyone forgets the WC, cause we aint never ever making money on his PL performances.

And all this about him still being young with potential, he’s 25 in two months. Not a young player anymore, keeper or not. He should have gotten past the bumps and improved a lot over the past few seasons, but he hasnt.
