What do you mean by won? Because the awards didn't start until 2 years later.



If pickford let those goals he'd be slaughtered. Don't say he wouldn't because people have had a go at him for every single goal we've let in. Every. Single. One.

Martyn was fantastic but Pickford will be better.

A bit of meaningless trivia, but at around 37-38 seconds in, you can see a block dot as Van Nistlerooy runs past. That was a younger mean hurling abuse as he ran past!

All I can take from that is that Paul Scholes was boss.

And back then we loved a set piece.

I think this is the thing for Pickford. In golf (or cricket) you will often see fantastic ball strikers but often they are not the guys who are the best players. There's a difference between being able to technically do things well and knowing how to put it all together.

There's a lot of that in Pickford for me. He has fantastic power, spring and reflexes as well as an awful lot of confidence. The best goalkeepers though put it together on a consistent and regular occurrence. Think of Schmeichel, who you'd always fancy to keep United in games, week after week.

Thats the challenge for Pickford. He needs to up his save ratio and be winning us more points. He should be angry to concede.
