Nobody's who has ever seen a game of football thought De Gea's second season was ropey, he won the league and was PL keeper of the year. His first season wasn't even ropey by most reasonable standards, he kept 13 clean sheets in the league. It's just when you're at a club like United every single performance will come under massive scrutiny, he was already performing much much better than Pickford (and most other keepers) are now at that point.

Point was at start of his United career he was ropey - most united fans would agree with that. But Ferguson stuck with, so he wasn't as ruffless as some on here claimed.

Well no, your point was very clearly that he was ropey for 2 full years. It was wrong. As I said, most United fans would probably agree that he was ropey in the sense that he wasn't as good as Van der Sar or Schmeichel, not ropey in the sense that he was actually a below average goalkeeper. There's really a massive difference between the two.

I haven't got a problem with players having an attitude, the problem with Pickford is he has a titish attitude, the amount of times I've seen him make mistakes then turn round and blames players round him even though they never contributed to his mistakes.
