This is why I prefer club business to be done in the dark. It was obvious that Pickford was in no way available for Chelsea to buy, Cootwah is leaving and Chelsea have to do something ASAP because the EPL window closes earlier than other leagues.

Occasionally, we get a good player. A player we can build a team around. But, more often than not, we don't match their expectations or needs, I'm thinking Lukaku here. Whilst we've warded off Chelsea interest for now, we still need to build on the good players we have & start making inroads to Europe in order to negate that CL carrot that gets dangled in front of them and, a carrot that we have no current answer for.

The chance of any team getting into UCL is simply doing good business. Chelsea seem to be falling from grace at the moment.
