If we qualify for Europe this season I’d go all out on getting Donnarumma from Milan. It’d be a tough sell and they’d want loads but he’s out of contract next season and no “top” club will need a new goalkeeper anytime for the next couple years so it’s the ideal time to go for him. Carlo could also be a massive factor as could Moise Kean in getting him and helping him to integrate.
...I don’t think it’s a matter of redemption. Pickford is making errors frequently, many of which are costing us points. I don’t think it’s a case of balancing that out with fine saves.
Yesterday’s was unusual error, he’s normally a fine shot-stopper, it’s his lack of command of the penalty area that most concerns me. i accept the new breed of goalies are different and I’m old school, but he’s not a keeper I have confidence in.
The thing is @Eggs, for me he's currently not showing that he is truly adept at being that new new bread of goal keeper, nor as he for the past few months at least.
His distribution is inconsistent at best, with regular poor (shocking) kicks and throws, and the defence do not seem to be able to work with him, let alone trust him.
He's usually a great shot stopper, and he's not the worst of our worries by any stretch of the imagination; yet, he has a few glaring deficiencies that he must work on.
In the short-term, I think we need to at least be looking at brining some positive competition for him, whereas in the long-term his place may not be secured.
There's a lot worse in the league... but I do want better.
He’s just young. He’ll be a top top keeper in 3 -4 years time. However I’d sell if we get a decent offer.
There are times in any sport were you just need to reset and get the basics done then build, he seems to refuse to accept this and probably thinks all is good...I was trying to be kind.
I agree, he does seem to have gone backwards. He needs a period of stability but he’s too daft.

I think most of his problems stem from concentration levels and decision making, he may mature and improve but there’s no guarantee and little evidence, I reckon he’s getting worse. Southall was about the same age when he really started to blossom, Pickford needs to get going quickly. I think he will be sold at a loss unless he turns things around. I’ve listened to folk blame the defence, but the Benteke goal was a prime example of how he switches off, not a good trait for a goalie.

It's all Pickford's fault.
He plays well for England so I would imagine he will still be number 1.Someone else summed it up perfectly. Let’s hope he has a good Euro (assuming he’s plays), England go far, and he ends up making some heroic pk stops again to raise his value.
I’m 6’6” and that works out at 1.97, so I’d guess he would be about 6’3” maybe? We should sign Pedro Gallese, the Peru goalkeeper. He is used to playing at a very high level. He is also 1.89 metres tall. That sounds a hell of a height to me, (not really understanding metric I can't be sure. he may be a dwarf). Apologies to any dwarfs on this forum, no offence intended.

The leagues littered with better keepers that cost a fraction of what he did
