What? That’s basically saying that every keeper in the world is turd, just because Kepa cost £70m that isn’t the bar. You could easily get a better keeper than Pickford for about £15m, there’s hundreds of them.

No. What I'm saying is for anyone above Pickford's level, that's the amount you'll be paying.

The idea that we could pick up a keeper for £15mill better than Pickford is like saying we could get a 20 goal a season striker for the same price. It doesn't happen.

Pickfords had a mare of a season. However, he's still one of the best keepers out there for his age.

Now, getting a good back up keeper to keep him on his toes is more likely.

A fair assessment of yesterday is he cost us a goal with an awful blunder then made amends with that save off the benteke header. I’m not a fan of him for many, many reasons but yesterday he made up for his error and was generally on control of the majority of situations, which isn’t always the case.

You can't make up for conceding a goal, saving another still doesn't negate the fact he dropped a clanger for a goal that thankfully didn't matter because his forwards bailed him out.

The thing is with Pickford could be an excellent keeper and has far more potential than those that have been mentioned as replacements. Unfortunately he's learning in the hardest position on the pitch.

After 1 season at Roma? Best keeper in the world? Every one said they over paid and gambled which paid off and I'm pretty sure most people didn't really know who he was.
