Exactly that. I'd love a no-hassle goalie who just does the job and doesn't want to be centre of attention.

He is absolutely crap mate ,goalkeeping isn't about balancing one howler with a star jump later and everything is ok.
The only time he stops any shots are when it's point blank and he doesn't have to think.
If he had gunpowder for brains he wouldn't have enough to blow his head off.

Just a standard Pickford day. Not sure we ever get beyond this unfortunately.

I don’t even think it was a particular “great” save.

The first stop was typical Pickford...got a hand to it but knocks it straight into the path of an opposing player.

Showed great agility getting across but the second shot was straight at him.

As Roy Keane said, that’s what he is paid for.

Winning us games....not saving a point.

And he cost us two today.

That save he made was from another mistake he made by patting the ball up in the air for the second United chance.

The reaction from him too, as if he'd cleared his debts. An absolute 'kin clown.

That “save” is not a get out of jail free card.

He cost us dearly today.

Who would you replace him with ? Bearing in mind we need a new CB and entire Central midfield. Ripping 75% of the spine out of a team wouldn't benefit us particularly.

I agree, to a point...many times we've had defenders in acres, head a long ball to nowhere in midfield. I wouldn't mind if they'd take that damn thing down and play out. I'd like to think that's not above their skill level, I know it's not with Mason but he's guilty, too.

And as @davek points out, it was him ”patting” the first effort which necessitated the second one.
