Why do we have to persecute our own players? Plenty of ther things to moan about, surely.

yes hes made mistakes, but he has also kept us in games. I know you all won’t believe it but Southall also made mistakes, I grant not as often, but he did.

i never get the need for the constant abuse OUR players get on here.

Huge difference between supporters and blind loyalty. He is a liability and the most important person on the pitch when underperforming. his errors and lack of saves have probably cost Everton 10+ goals this season and are killing us.

he needs to go, no excuse or support required anymore. He is done at Everton

Again nonsense, half the league is littered with better keepers that cost a fraction of what he did. Just because Walsh was stupid enough to make him the fifth most expensive keeper of all time doesn’t mean it’s the norm

Indeed, he's got time on his side and is operating behind a defence that is someway short of where it needs to be, the passage of play leading up to their goal on Sunday highlights this. He has to mature and improve, better coaching and a kick up the ars* in the form of some competition for his jersey would help, but I think we have other priorities in the summer. De Gea on £400k a week provides some perspective, but some on here just enjoy hating and winding up, with no thought of the consequences.

If you really want him sold, big him up.

With respect, I dont think you realise just how bad he is. Statistically he is the second worst at saving shots, the worst at errors leading to goals, he is average in terms of distribution & he cant concentrate for 90 mins or deal with crosses. Almost any keeper in the PL would be an improvement and I am sure the Don and his network will be able to identify a few from outside the league who could improve.

Look at Dubravka at Newcastle - came in for 2 million I think & he is top drawer
 
very disappointed with some of the tosh expressed here. So much of the keepers performance is reliant on a consistent, good back 4. When that is properly nailed down and not changed virtually every game, then there is a better chance to measure. Yes, Pickford has some weaknesses, name the keepers who haven't, but his strengths outweigh them. Give the guy a break for Christ sake.

Conceding a goal from 30 yards out is not really down to the back four though is it? That's a routine save for keepers at that level, just like the Palace one should have been.

That's ridiculous. Clubs wouldn't bother with scouts if all they were going to find is a player who costs £50m, as better than what you've currently got.
