The shot from outside the box on Saturday should have been stopped at source. Pickford did make a bad error, but the player should not have been given the time and space he had to shoot in the first place. So please look at the whole game and apportion blame, if you must, to all those involved in the goal, not just your current target for abuse.

If we go and conceed 15 more goals in 10 games which is easily possible with us-one or 2 may end an error which we dont know what will happen in next few months-why would that be classed as error rate ? Are we classing every goal we conceed as errors from him even when like before some are not [while yes some are] but not as many as people make out

my point is between underperformance (Shotsaving) and errors he is costing us about 10 - 15 goals based on the stats available. He is 10% worse at saving the ball the the average across the PL. This, plus his run rate of errors suggests by replacing him with a decent keeper we would be 10 + goals better over the course of the season.

Maybe because Martinez never gave him a proper chance, he’d played well when Howard was injured but brought Tim back as soon as he was fit, Martinez was out of order with that move and it started to turn me against him and then Martinez proved to most fans he wasn’t good enough to manage Everton F C. and Tim started to show that he was past his best.

I don't disagree. Whether Pickford is better than Robles we will never know.....but if I had to chose one from those two it would not be an easy choice

He cant be defended with all that context (you're all but blaming the ball boys there for that howler).

But I agree about the competition. And the decks have been cleared now for a couple of experienced GKs with real pedigree to come in and take the GK jersey and keep Pickford on the bench forever.

I would hope that Ancelotti will be having words with Pickford and telling him that the times when he had an automatic start at Everton are over. Hand him and his agent that news before the Euros and see what happens.

No it's his fault the shot went in. It's a good shot but saveable. It shouldn't be going in.

My main concern in general isn't that. It's that the situation was easily avoidable in the first place and that's a team thing (which started with Pickford in this case but is clearly a tactic).

He's been crap recently (while also making a few standout saves) so why aren't we as a team smart enough to stop creating our own issues too to add to that?
