Get the money back in that we paid for him and re-invest.We should capitalise on his value whilst he is still England No.1, which in my opinion won't be indefinately as he is certainly prone to dropping a clanger at a major tournament, and Euro 2020 is now approaching.
If that happens, the media ignorance of him in large parts will no longer stand.
He is for me an average keeper with an inflated reputation. It would be sound business to sell him at maximum value whilst we still can.
I thought he was playing in goal last night?Still out of position imo ....
Pope is a top goalie...Amen to that!Get the money back in that we paid for him and re-invest.
I was pilloried for suggesting Pope a couple of years back. He's twice the GK Pickford is.
Goalkeeping is a pretty unique skill, which I don't possess. I don't often criticise keepers for their positioning etc, because having never played there I don't really understand it all that well. What I do know though, is keepers will always be criticised when beaten at their near post, and Pickford's overall record for us has hardly put him above criticism when it comes to these things.Pope for crying put loud is not a better keeper, some of you are utter lunatics, pickford just about got fingertips to the 1st and had no chance with the 2nd,the ones saying hes standing in the wrong place etc if hes more to the right and gets beat to the left, you would be having a field day with him, some of you need to give your heads a big wobble-some of you on your dislike of him look for absolutely anything possible to moan even when we dont conceed-its beyond boring really
That shot people moan about is a well hit, powerful 1st time shot that not many if any save, people are just way over the top looking for something to moan about, yes he makes mistakes, but way,way less than some make out, every goal we conceed people look for something to blame him on-even as said when we dont conceed-ie if he kicks to far-always has to be something ,if its the goal for man utd like though players legs etc,if they think hes standing to far to his left, right, shot right at him etc etc, some are quite ridiculous really,He will be here for a long timeGoalkeeping is a pretty unique skill, which I don't possess. If you think criticising him for not being able to pass to our players is unfair, I'm not sure you're really looking at this very objectively. His repeated kicking straight through to the opposition keeper when we're on the back foot/trying to see out a game etc, is a pretty big issue. But hey, he's the England keeper so he must be super duper good right. Everyone should stop expecting him to do what he gets paid for and just let him go the darts and that. That shot people moan about is a well hit, powerful 1st time shot that not many if any save, people are just way over the top looking for something to moan about, yes he makes mistakes, but way,way less than some make out, every goal we conceed people look for something to blame him on-even as said when we dont conceed-ie if he kicks to far-always has to be something ,if its the goal for man utd like thought players legs etc,if they think hes standing to far to his left, right, shot right at him etc etc, some are quite ridiculous really,He will be here for a long time
He's a massive man-child disappointment.
I wouldn't lose any sleep over him being shifted out. He's far from being irreplaceable.
I've disliked the lad since the anfield derby and Newcastle away game....
He is the type of kid who spent half his school life stood outside the classroom cos the teachers could not tolerate his incessant messing about.
The way he tells his defenders to F off when they pull him up on a bad decision really does my head in.
Great shot stopper when it's fired within 3 metres of him. But I think Ancelotti will want more from his keeper.
Somehow, didn’t know it was possible, keeps kicking it too far. Like surely he has the ability to just take some power off it?
