Saw a stat the other day he’d conceded 26 outside the box since 17/18 - obviously the most out of any keeper. Can’t recall any absolute howlers off the top of my head mind , maybe we should start closing shots down....

That's really interesting. What it really shows is the stats stand up overtime. He is the worst at stopping the ball going in the net, in fairness there havent been howlers (expensive ones at least) but the pattern of poor shot stopping continues. He's just not any good, shouldnt be held against him, just get rid

The best info i can find would suggest he concedes from an average of about 12 yards out but so far this season he has faced 65 shots on target in 11 games he has played which shows just how poor we are at the back. One alarming stat is that out of 97 crosses into the box Pickford has intercepted 6.

This says 53 for us so far which is slightly below average but is also the same as Leicester who I don't think anyone calls poor at the back.

I think the above can be summed up in the one incident against Chelsea where Mount hit the upright...He moved two steps to his right before the free kick and was beaten when it went to his left. He is seemingly is either trying to anticipate the free kick taker or seems to be worried that because he is so short he won't get to it if he doesn't anticipate.

Maybe a former goalkeeper could explain the above a bit better?
