They all make mistakes. The difference is those make saves often enough. Pickford not so much.

Most keepers make a couple of mistakes a season.

I feel that Jordan is good for a least one error or act of misjudgement per game, but Carlo appears to have faith in our senior players and wants to keep him in the starting eleven. So that be that.

All keepers make mistakes. Our problem is Pickford makes the most mistakes leading to goals and makes the least saves. It's not an "anti-pickford mob" its rational people who can admit that he is dreadful & hope we move on.

Picko is no better or worse than the rest of the goalies in the prem.
They're all daft. They wouldn't be goalies if they weren't.

I prefer to think he belongs to the second (human) tier who make mistakes. Whereas top-tier (God-like title challengers) seldom make as many. But even a once top-tier goalie can be quickly relegated to the second tier if they lose confidence (De Gea). An incredible amount of pressure on them these days and it can snowball.

I'm willing to back Pickford as I want him to succeed. He's one player who I feel really gives it his all, and cares, his mistakes often spawning from that same desperation to do well.

he is literally good at reaction saves and very poor on everything else, just not a good GK in my opinion

Thats just burying your head in the sand. There is no anti pickford nonsense. He made two errors that could totaly have undone the result even despite he pulled off some great saves. Thats pickford all over. Great followed by wtf.
You've just mentioned two keepers who keep clean sheets. Can argue about defenders being part of that. But we hardly keep clean sheets under pickford.
Its a very serious consideration he is no long term answer.

Yep - it seems to be a real Achilles for him for some reason and it seems to be getting worse, strangely there are very similar parallels with Joe Hart on that front where the deterioration on that front seemed to accelerate very quickly.

I would wonder is it a case of data analysts identifying it and simply shooting more.

We were very lucky when he came out to the edge of the box and a soft punch straight to a Chelsea player, a better lob would have been a goal. That was just as stupid as the Derby mess up.

If honest I have no problem with a keeper making a mistake, they are human and mistakes happen....
My area of concern with him is around his decision making and positional awareness.
On Saturday both of them were in evidence, and on both occasions he got away with them.
I think he has some great attributes, sadly though the basics are what catch him out on most occasions

I feel that every 25 yard shot is going past him , I think the other teams have this sussed aswell.
