Clean sheet and a couple of good saves and decent punches and all I see on here is the usual bums who want to criticise, right I’m off to read the Siggy page where it’ll be the same then to the Keane thread where he should be getting more praise than James this season

Stop talking rubbish lad - Utd aint arsed about a few quid from years ago when they are one of the richest clubs in the world.

Utd wouldn't loan him to us as they saw us as a direct rival - even the Manchester Press pretty much gave that as the reason when Romero's wife came out and slammed the club for not letting him leave.

Had we stumped up silly money they may well have let him go but a loan move is all Brands wanted and they wouldnt loan to what they considered at the time to be a rival as we were top of the table about 6 points better off than them and they knew Pickford is our big achilles heel.

Worship Brands all you want- facts are we needed a new GK yet he waits until the last day of the window to try get one - same as he waited to try sign a CB last summer and signed about 3 players the summer before that around the deadline day.

Its a risky strategy that if it doesn't come off you're knackered until January with a problem area not addressed.

I don't worship brands any more than I loathe needlessly blowing the best part of £10m for a teams 3rd choice keeper who is on £100k in his last season.

If you think the differential of Romero over Pickford is a £15.2m outlay for one season when donnarumma is a potential signing on a free in the new year then you aren't thinking straight.

It's clear that the goalkeeper situation was a stop gap for one year.... Which is why we never went for the perm deal..

And yes, money bags United are that club...... Small time operators who have shafted themselves by penny pinching. Missed out on a leipzig player for being thrifty. Missed out on Harry kane when mourinho wanted him, grealish ...... Glazers seen Everton as taking £8m off them

Im not arguing we should have paid daft money for Romero mate - my issue was that we all knew we needed a new GK so why wasn't Brands identifying that area in the first few weeks of the window?

Evetything is last minute with the fella and he always leaves us short in atleast one department (CB last summer and up top this one).

You have a point on deadline day stuff. I don't get it.

You know it’s ok to praise him for the amount of points he’s saved us recently even if you’ve been slaying him for ages. It’s actually a bit weird still finding so much fault with him when in reality he’s played well.

Before you jump on me I’m not a fan of his.
Too many people made there minds up on him and others a long long time ago. I’ve been a Iwobi critic for a while but I’m glad he’s improving, others have a unhealthy hate against there own players and will not praise just nit pick. If james puts in a performance as good as keanes last night we will hear about it for months, Keane written off by so many will look at last nights performance from his as ok And Jordan is the same

I think he has had a word in his ear about coming off his line a bit more. A goalie has to have more than the obvious ability of shot stopping and coming off his line is something any keeper should have in his locker. Naturally more mistakes likely to happen with dropping balls and weak punches but you have to ask yourself that if they don't come off the line what damage will or can that do. At least Pickford is now attempting to dominate his area a bit more and relieve the pressure put on the CBs. That is what I like to see.
