I know I shouldn't be negative but it's so frustrating to see us 5 points behind them lot. There game in midweek for example we would of let a last minute one in and lost.
Even the commentators/ pundits were saying Tottenham have to be careful they don't lose this game as they are playing Liverpool. The luckiest team in the world

Just to list them: Alisson, Ederson, Leno, Lloris, Gazzaniga, De Gea, Henderson, Romero, Mendy, Schmeichel, Patricio, Martinez, Areola, Meslier, Johnstone, Darlow, Dubravka. Off the top of my head I'd take any single one of these over Pickford without a moment of hesitation.

So that's also why I think Olsen could be better. Because basically everyone is.

You have just listed a whole load of keepers who vary between good and average. Alisson stands out and, oh I nearly said Schmeichel who has just made two cockups in one game. The rest are similar to Pickford. Oh, I do prefer Olsen, until of course he gets a run of games and makes two blunders, and then which tune do you play?.

Good and average are both not adjectives that describe Pickford. A lot of our fans have still not grasped just how bad this guy is playing.

If Olsen makes a bunch of mistakes the tune is we are screwed because we don't have a passable keeper to get us through the season. But until that happens he needs to play.

Today’s game, Leeds keeper, error and also a shot from outside the box, Dr Gea awful pass leading straight to a shot from outside the box. West Brom keeper, dribbler from outside the box and also beaten at the near post from being half hearted with a cross. Loris let in a goal that’s almost identical to the one you ridiculed Pickford for against Southampton. And that’s just today, and only the ones that went in, not including any other ‘clangers’.

I keep saying it but these keeper all have had games where they've made saves this season. Pickford at best has two such occasions. Leeds and Spurs. Pickford is not making saves often enough. He is making errors too often. I'm not sure you can do any worse as a keeper.

Also a bit confused about the Lloris one. Which goal?

But for real, we've all seen De Gea down the years. Is this really a good comparison to make? I mean really think about how hard we are grasping with that.

We missed a big opportunity with Martinez. He looked good when he came in for Leno last year and has shown at Villa since he's very very decent. What did he cost them £15m?, i think we couldve got that for Jordan and to me that would have been a drastic upgrade.
But im not taking Areola, Johnston, Meslier, Darlow or Dubravka as next step keepers to build a defense upon anymore than Jordan tbh.

Martinez was 20-25m I think, which is a big enough investment that I'm not mad that we didn't do it, but he is good.

I don't necessarily want us to sign any of those players. I just think the fact that Newcastle, Fulham and West Brom all have keepers that are passable and playing better than ours shows that there is no excuse for us to not have someone better. It can be done.

And we very well may have done it but we refuse to give Olsen a run.

Lloris, maddisons goal.

De Gea has been pretty trash the last 2 seasons, you certainly would rip him to pieces if he were at Everton.

And Pickford does have those games, Chelsea was one, but he doesn't get credit. Other keepers make errors just as often, people just don't focus on them, and its fun to hate Pickford.

Chelsea was not one. He's being given a ton of credit for a shot he saved that was outside the box like it was some kind of unstoppable strike. He saved a shot from Zouma right at him. Otherwise there wasn't much to do. It was a fine performance except that late on he totally misplayed a freekick and was saved by the post. Genuinely if that hadn't happened I would count that game in the good category, but it did happen. This is true of Arsenal too. But he dropped a cross and it ended up off the post as well.

I'm in the De Gea is still really good camp. Basically he was the best keeper on Earth and now he's just above average so it looks like he's dropped off and isn't good when really he's just dropped off from an unsustainable level. I would not rip him the same way.

I didn't think of the Maddison goal because it didn't count but it goes to the same concept: Lloris saves those sometimes. Pickford is not getting them ever. It's an aggregate thing.

And I don't have fun ripping Pickford. Having to constantly worry about flub ups is not fun. I want it to stop.

Can we expect a competent keeper that can catch crosses and kick a ball to a team mate?
