He's been superb for a few months now. And always superb for England. Its always been a case of cut out the mistakes and calm down and he's a top keeper.

Exactly this. I’d had enough of his mistakes a few months ago, but he was probably our most conisistent player for the final few games. He has seemed much calmer and hopefully that continues now.

Mad how much he's disliked by the rest of the country though, all fans seem to think Henderson who's played hardly any games this season deserves to play instead.

It’s all media narrative. When England’s number one has a bad spell the media is all over it. When England’s next big thing makes a mistake it gets swept under the carpet.
I live down south and told all my colleagues and friends that Pickford has been in the form of his career in recent months and will absolutely start for Southgate and none of them knew anything since mistakes earlier in the season and assumed he was still dodgy.

Never had a problem with Pickford. A lot of fans on here went over the top when he had a dodgy spell.
Thankfully he’s got over it and the poison said about him is starting to quieten down now!

Pickford did well as ever when needed despite many England fans having a go at him when he bailed out Trippier, which is so very odd from England fans lol

since his 2 lay offs for Injury, and the few games rest etc, he has been excellent for us, and never lets England down-not yet anyway-though England fans act as though he does every game lol

Had this with a couple of friends during the week. All were of the view that they’d start Henderson over Pickford, even though I and another friend (also a blue) pointed out that Pickford’s probably been our most consistent player since January and no one could recall him playing badly in that time, compared to Henderson who’s barely played when he’s up against an under fire De Gea
