I've been 1 of Pickfords critics on here, and honestly, like @catcherintherye said earlier, I was not impressed at Sunderland and did not want us to buy him, certainly for that amount. Contrary to most people, I wasn't even impressed in his 1st year when lots said he was our best player, he even won player of the season, which I thought was over the top, albeit in a poor side with few stand outs.

I stated many times that I believe he is something of a liability and he seemed rather than learning from mistakes he doubled down on them, but to be fair, since Carlo rotated him and took him out the firing like, he definitely seems to have a new focus. He seems far less erratic and more calm in his decision making and positioning. Rather than appearing manic, he looks like he has matured a lot, and a good tournament is good for us and for him.

Its still hard to know if this is a good patch or the previous was a bad patch. He will need to show a level of consistency for a while before we know either way. But at the very least more assured performances, including a good tournament, will only mean we will benefit, either by increasing his value or by providing us with a regular keeper for the foreseeable.

Fair play mate. He's been great since he came back from injury.
I remember reading he was seeing a sports psychologist which you could maybe attribute his renewed form to?
That and a valid challenge from Olson.
Either way, great to have him back to his first season's form.

He's had the sports psychologist all season, not just from his good form, His spell out twice with 2 sep Injury's then been rested for a few games were the difference for me from that point

I imagine the psychology wasn't an instantaneous response to be honest mate, I fail to see why that as a potential cause along with increased competition would be moot?

It's certainljy when it became more apparent, if not, what would your cause be?
