As everyone on here knows I'm one of Pickfords biggest critics, but the lad was superb today. His shot stopping was as expected apart from the 2nd save of the double, which was fantastic. But he got the basics right. Which is what we want.

Top class today, his shot stopping we know can be brilliant, but particularly pleasing to see him control his 6 yard box so well.

Well, I will bat it back to you and state that your dislike of Jordan Pickford is driven entirely by xenophobia because if it’s not you would hold your hands up when he plays well but you never do and are quick to “chip in“ with your “Pickford is average“ narrative when the consensus is different to your agenda. This leads me to conclude that if it’s not xenophobia then you base your dislike of the Everton goalkeeper on what you see and what you understand of what a goalkeeper should or shouldn’t be doing which makes it quite obvious you don’t fully grasp what that is.
I have a simple question, if you would be so kind. Please can you rate these goalkeepers in order of overall ability:
Jordan Pickford, Tim Howard, Kasey Keller, Nigel Martyn, Brad Friedel, Neville Southall

I have gave him a lot of stick over the years but he had a good game today and he’s had a decent season to be fair. He’s not to 1st position that requires an upgrade.

Why would rating Pickford over some of those who were average to bad make him better than average?
