Personally I think he's crap and i always have done, should have just came and claimed that first corner like a normal goalkeeper but he's far to small and flappy.
Yes shocking fir the first goal. And doesn’t seem to make great saves that win us points

Ok he was unlucky with West Ham 2nd , but I still think he has parts to his game that will never improve, like commanding his box

I’d sell if we couid get out 30mil back and buy Sam Johnstone on a free, I doubt we’d see a huge difference and have 30mi in the coffers

Is he available on a free?

Johnstone similar sort of keeper to Pickford, great shot stopper but no good in his box and the worse kicker I ever seen but he out of contract so free plus only on about 18 grand a week so would come cheap

We conceded 2 to Hull, QPR and 3 to Villa with Begovic in net, looked like we’d concede every cross against Newcastle and we got lucky Chris Wood decided to actively head the ball anywhere but in the net that night
Not sure how anyone who watches our defence thinks the solution is to drop Pickford due to one massively fortunate clean sheet at home to Newcastle
There was about 5 things that happened for the third goal after he cleared it for a throw in (incredible we can’t defend that throw in)

Two positions that are governed by goals

If a centre forward doesn’t score goals he is usually dropped

If a Goalkeeper is constantly conceding goals he is usually dropped

Not necessarily, didn't West Brom concede the 2nd highest number of goals last season but Johnstone had some of the best stats which got him picked for England squad.

I did say usually?

There will always be exceptions

Does Pickford warrant being an exception, or is he part of the wider defensive frailties we see year on year…

Great shot stopper but that's about it. People go on about his distribution but how many times do we see him just hoof it straight out when he tries a long ball. Not to mention his clearance for Burley's third, shambles.

He has improved this year and has made less mistakes but can you imagine playing as a defender in front of him, he would inspire no confidence.

Crap at corners, crap at free kicks, crap of controlling the box and generally being a dominant goalkeeper. Too erratic, get rid.

I'll allow some criticism of Pickford, he ain't perfect.

But Everton fans have been absolutely spoilt by his kicking. Did you see Nick Pope for example?

He plays like he's wearing Rockports, and yeah he might keep it within the width of the pitch more than Pickford but that's because that's all he is trying to do. One of the goalkeeper passes, the other clears.

I'm rubbing my hands with glee for the day that Pickford leaves us, just so people realise how ridiculous some of the criticism of him is when we have an inferior goalkeeper. Especially, with kicking.

It baffles me!

He is one of 3 or 4 I would not sell/move on.

Yes room for improvement at times but Pickford of the last 1 and a bit seasons is a very different Pickford to the one pre his "counselling" my criticism is that he needs to Command the box and be as communicative before rather than all shouty after an event, tell those players where you want them and what you expect.

If someone does offer silly money though, I guess given our situation, then none are outside of the "shouldn't sell" remit!
