Personally I think he's crap and i always have done, should have just came and claimed that first corner like a normal goalkeeper but he's far to small and flappy.

I would give Begovic a go in goal myself.

He is one of 3 or 4 I would not sell/move on.

Yes room for improvement at times but Pickford of the last 1 and a bit seasons is a very different Pickford to the one pre his "counselling" my criticism is that he needs to Command the box and be as communicative before rather than all shouty after an event, tell those players where you want them and what you expect.

If someone does offer silly money though, I guess given our situation, then none are outside of the "shouldn't sell" remit!

Yeah of course, if someone throws north of 25m I'd sell him but he's fine.

My 2 criticisms of him are that he's not big enough and he doesn't command his area. The second issue is due to the first.

How he can be blamed for a defence containing a geriatric Seamus Coleman, a lobotomised Michael Keane, whatever Mason Holgate is and one of the worst full backs I've seen in the Premier league in Mykolenko I really don't know.

People literally criticising him when we concede about 4 clear cut chances a game that Van Der Sar would struggle against.

I'll allow some criticism of Pickford, he ain't perfect.

But Everton fans have been absolutely spoilt by his kicking. Did you see Nick Pope for example?

He plays like he's wearing Rockports, and yeah he might keep it within the width of the pitch more than Pickford but that's because that's all he is trying to do. One of the goalkeeper passes, the other clears.

I'm rubbing my hands with glee for the day that Pickford leaves us, just so people realise how ridiculous some of the criticism of him is when we have an inferior goalkeeper. Especially, with kicking.

He doesn't hold a candle to Big Nev, Nigel Martyn or even Tim Howard. Nil Satis Nisi Optimum

Hes better than every single one of them at the main stick you used to beat him with. Kicking.

Not saying he's better than them, though he'd defo give Captain America a run for his money.

Deserves so much more respect than he gets.

Tbf I'm just making an assumption based of the progression of footballing goalkeepers, I was 4 when he left Everton. Happy to be corrected though

The main stick I beat him with is his erraticness, he is crap at commanding the area and coming for the ball in the 6 yard box. Every corner or freekick into the box he inspires no confidence in me, I can't imagine what our defence think.

I mentioned his kicking because people say he has amazing distribution, I just think he is average. Pep would give him the Joe Hart treatment without a seconds thought.

I keep seeing this but shouldn’t shot stopping be the most basic trait of being a goalkeeper at any level.

He’s all over the place trying to make saves that he’s not gonna get anywhere near instead of making them look basic. Look at West Ham’s free kick last week. What’s he doing there.

His kickings atrocious too. Hammering it as hard as he can down the pitch is not the equivalent of a 40 yard lofter pass to a teammates feet.

Sunderland have got form for unloading these shot stopping duds into this city for big money. They only look good cos Sunderland conceded 50 shots per game.

Average. That said, an average Prem keeper is worth a fair bit these days. Out and out bad goalkeeping is very costly, in terms of points.
