2022/23 Jordan Pickford

His bizarre fan club could just say he made an error in the Derby but they still rate him. Its very weird how it has to be all 'he kept us up single handed' or just blaming everyone and everything for any error he makes.

That’s exactly what I would say. I don’t think anyone is saying he didn’t make an error? He’s good enough for where we are at the moment and probably better than what we could reasonably attract unless we got very lucky. The problem is people have an expectation that he’ll never make a single mistake. No goalkeeper can hit that level but Pickford critics aren’t looking at the errors other keepers are making week after week.

I'm sure he will be off at the end of the season regardless, no one really watches enough of opposition keepers to be certain of their level unless they are a pro scout. It will be up to the club to replace him effectively and use the funds to strengthen the squad, something we have been terrible at. Its should be seen as an opportunity rather than a disaster for those at the club.

The Newcastle goalie is so much taller than Pickers, and as above is clearly highly rated by some on GOT. And yet... he can't dislodge the current England keeper? Oh, he did play one England game recently when the current England keeper was injured, and the Newcastle keeper made a terrible schoolboy error and threw the game away. He left the pitch with his head down and hasn't been picked since.
"No mistakes Pickford" is to dumb to acknowledge any mistakes.

He wont find anything better. Thats his problem. How many english keepers in the premier? How many at big clubs?

There you go mate. Just a small collection.

Er, that's Pickford's...we know he's had a few- i said others- research them and get your answer- you can even do Big Nev the year he was voted Footballer of the Year and find some clangers (i'll start you off- Spurs (h), Norwich (a), Ipswich (h)). If you're going to say Pickford was at fault vs Man Utd earlier this season, then Martyn did plenty of them (beaten at near post vs RS, fumbled weak shot into the path of striker vs Arsenal, etc).

Martyn didn't have as many shockers than Howard, who had so many poor performances at Everton, it got to the point where the fans would sarcastically clap him for catching a ball (harshly, in my view).
