show me any goalkeeping training that says that.

Its not there and it most definitely isn't rule number 1
Listened to a podcast with Rob Green and I think it was Ben Foster, they were discussing goalkeeping myths - they said one of the biggest myths talked about in the media and non goal keeper pundits is the old “shouldn’t get beaten at your near post” cliche.

They talked through what top keepers are taught/coached to do in terms of where to stand/angles etc. and basically dispelled the myth so in summary, you’re spot on. A keeper can be at fault for being beaten at their near post where they get their angles wrong, in the same way they can be at fault getting beaten at the far post if they get their angles wrong. Simply saying - it’s the near post, the keepers at fault - is fallacy.

Thanks for that, spot on

Thanks for agreeing that it’s not there. Because it’s not true. It’s something you heard someone say in the playground and now it’s absolute gospel for you.
Boring me now pal. Everything I write you reply with a stupid comment so yeah, you’re boring me.

Yes, a good goalkeeper does not get beat at his near post, it’s rule number one you are taught as a kid. Don’t get beat at your near post.
Well whatever. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. That’s all it is, it’s an opinion. Grow up.
But you said it's rule #1, not an opinion. You've been embarrassed by this:

Actual professional international goalkeepers who know what they're talking about. To blame Pickford is just wrong. Fact.

Not wished to cast an opinion on this topic so I'm going for the fake centralist angle of 'just asking questions'. Is there a correlation between Davies fans and diehard pickford fans?
Thank you for this poignant question. I would also like to ask if there is a link between Pickford hatred and waking up in one’s own urine for at least five mornings each week.
