Knowing our current situation, we can expect insulting bids for the likes of Pickford.

Pickford is the current England goalkeeper who has distinguished himself in major tournaments. He has recently signed a contract which has, I believe, four years to run. We paid £25-30M for him six years ago and fees have risen considerably since then. We got £45M for Anthony Gordon in January, and Man United paid £80M for Harry Maguire some years ago. I'd say that a fee in the region of £80-90M+ would be realistic, not that I want him to be sold.Fascinated to here what you think realistic is?
Pound a week's a bit stiff, the reports are that the new money is to complete BM. But then we'll be the last to know,as usual.i mean agree (
the accountants ) but we shouldn’t be under pressure to sell now and plus these new people coming in? can they pay a pound a week lol

Absolute nonsense I’m afraid. He gets a huge pay rise, Champions league football and actually be involved in cup matches beyond the 3rd round, a chance to play for honours. It’s an absolute no brainer. Sadly the same reason every decent player eventually goes to the scab 6.I wouldn’t go if I were Pickford. The media hate him and most opposition fans now do also for no real reason as he’s always performed well for England. If he goes to a top 6 team he’ll be under the most ridiculous amount of pressure imaginable and will probably end up losing his England spot after his first error. If he stays at Everton and keeps being excellent then he only really has to navigate the derbies and he’ll end up staying England number 1.
Accept ffs, otherwise agree, selling Pickford would be bonkers in our position.except none

£80-90mil for a 29 year old.
Literally a world record fee for a 29 year old?
Quite amazed at that.
Not all players are driven by this big boy crap. No idea if he is or not but some players can be quite happy to just have a nice top flight career. At the risk of making myself unpopular - why wouldn't he go?
He's dedicated a fair few of his prime years to us, been absolutely amazing, and he may think he owes us nothing and that it's tempting to go and try another club - where he could earn a lot of money and play in more prestigious competitions.
He isn't an Evertonian, we're not a club on the up (with the exception of BMD), and footballers' careers are notoriously short.
This stuff with his agent might be their way of spinning the PR so if he does move they could say "JP would have been happy to stay, but the club had to accept a large offer." or similar.
Obviously I would love him to stay, but we're not blessed with many saleable assets and have a FFP hole to fill.
*braces self*
The logic of @Aberblue is reasonable though. Would Pickford be double the value to a team than Gordon? I would suggest yes. Would anyone pay that for him though? Very much doubt it. And I hope no one does.

As for the FFP stuff, we would basically be selling our best player and then not being able to spend the money. We have seen this already.
Keep the good ones, move on the rubbish ones.
That would be preferableFor utd?
