I’ve got to say, this type of post is just really odd. I mean he’s our best player.

Now, he may not be the best keeper in the league, fair enough. But he’s in the next bracket for sure. I would strongly argue that he’s a much better keeper than a club in our position deserves to have.

Surely there’s some middle ground between not the best in the league and crap?

if we sell him? I do think id be really really worried about relegation. And I wasn’t last year.

The best thing he ever did here was to protect himself from Van Dijk's leg breaking challenge and instead break Van Dijk in two.

Sell him and get two forwards in. Dont let this drag on to the summer when he'll go on the cheap and we're in the Championship.

He’s a great shot stopper but a really average goalkeeper.

I’d have no issue selling him, what I do have an issue with is handing that money to Kevin Thelwell who, after selling Richarlison, thought it appropriate to sign Dwight McNeil and Neal Maupay

At an age where he will be saying I need to win things.
He has a high profile ,England number 1.
He isn't winning anything with us anytime soon
I wouldn't blame him for going.

Ooh, yes please.

He was absolutely outstanding at the World Cup - the best in the tournament and didn't need to resort to embarrassing himself to win penalty shoot-outs.

If we do sell Pickford, I would only sanction it if Livakovic is the replacement.

The chances of getting him at all - let alone for single figure millions - is small though. Man United, Cheslea, Spurs, Leeds, and Bayern are all sniffing around.

There are more negatives than positives. There always has been. I posted this on Toffeeweb about Pickford;

I have a real problem with Pickford and I've said it for a long long time. As much as I think he's a good shot-stopper and in every match we applaud him for generally a good save which would've resulted in a goal, it generally overshadows shots he should save or decisions which he should make, and make them better.
Too often, he does the hard things right and the easy things wrong. I think he was at fault for the goals against Newcastle, Man City away, Liverpool away, and obviously more this season but they are the ones I remember. I hate this attitude, I hate his awful fumbling and handling of the ball...

The guy simply makes too many mistakes and hasn’t erased this from his game.

One of if our best player and you want him sold on a wim because of a few mistakes?

Without him last season, we would be in the Championship by now.

You could say the same about Jordan Pickford. If he was good, he'd have moved from us.

Livakovic has played Champions League regularly - unlike Pickford. Secondly, as a goalkeeper, his opportunities to move are more limited than outfield players. Thirdly, he's 27. Perfect age for a move abroad for a keeper. He's just starred at a World Cup and has 41 caps for Croatia. I agree with you - be wary of signing people on World Cup performances only, but this fella has been doing it for a few years now for club and country, as Harry Kane will testify after their Europa League tie with Dinamo Zagreb in 2021.

Depends though as keepers are tricky. Pickford already got a big money move to us (remember we were flush with cash ready to break top 4). And he signed new deals so we'd be asking for £40+million which is rare for a keeper unless you're the top top level (Edersons etc).

By that point a top club has already spent that and got a top keeper in for a long time. Additionally the rest of the European clubs tend to go cheap.

Just at the moment now where Spurs, United, Chelsea are top club's looking for a keeper now.
