2017/18 Jordan Pickford

He should have come out for the first, no doubt.
But it's far more of a concern as to how that goal came about. Shambolic. Look at this when the ball is played. Look at how many Everton players are there, how many Burnley. Davies and Walcott in utter no man's land. Davies has stayed high because he's worried about Cork. He should be stopping passes getting to the Burnley front 2. Walcott should come across.

And it's that chain-reaction which means Williams is worried about the pass to Wood who pulls him out of the backline. Keane is now exposed and can't gamble on shutting the channel ball down proactively.

One decoy run from Wood, one simple pass and the failure to read the game by any Everton player sees Burnley score. Pickford waits too long but I imagine he thinks Keane will catch him (not a defence of him, just a presumption).

Question: if Sam isn't stopping these types of goals, what is the point in having him?

Davies positioning is shocking tbh, hasn't got the discipline to play in a midfield 2

I blame him for both goals.

Would DeGea stay on his line for the first? Nope

Would DeGea have let Ward obstruct him without getting a foul all game? Nope

Would DeGea be beaten 3 yards out from a corner without getting a fist to it?
Nope

As I keep saying, he is vastly overrated.

You are comparing him to arguably the best keeper in the world.

Do you compare Tosun with your fellow countryman Messi??

People are aware that he has the worst centreback pairing in the world in front of him aren’t they?

He needs to command his six yard box from corners, he simply does not do this....

Hopefully he will improve on this & become a even better keeper....

Keeper coach get practicing Pickford from coming out claiming the ball from corners....

He is still young and surely it will improve over time. If you remember De Gea was rubbish at catching the ball in the air when he first went to United and his command of the six yard box wasn't the greatest either and look at him now.

Good point let's hope he gets as good as de gea...

Just ATM we look so vulnerable at corners we need our keeper to be more dominant & command his six yard box, Pickford seems rooted to his line which puts our defence under enormous pressure at every corner....

I do think a lot of it is because he is slightly nervous due to the two muppets playing infront of him and not having any confidence in them. Look at the change in Karius at the RS now he has VVD playing infront of him, he is starting to look as though he is half decent.

Could be, at least he has stopped dashing out of his goal panicking the hell out of everyone....
Let's hope he can improve on his judgement & angles & become a more dominant keeper in his six yard box...
His shot stopping is formidable....

Arguably at fault for both goals on Saturday. He's a young lad with a big future but I wish we had someone experienced (and half decent) to take the pressure off him

When you see that second still, it's actually remarkable that Barnes gets there so much quicker than Keane. He's seen the ball being played and is slightly ahead of Barnes, but is so slow that he's not even in time to make a tackle nevermind get there first. I originally thought he'd been caught flat footed by the pass but this picture shows that wasn't the case. Its frightening really.

Pickford really needed to come out though, it was the first thing I thought in real time. Your eyes sort of scan over following the ball and you expect to see a certain picture, I couldn't believe it when he didn't come into view as the ball travelled further and further. Pickford has been way down our list of problems in my opinion, but that doesn't mean he hasn't been one at all. He's got some serious improving to do to get even close to the level some people on here reckon he's already at.
