Right, he gets an absurd amount of criticism but i've literally just remembered that failed Valencia manager saying he SHOULD have CAUGHT that first half shot from .....whoever it was who shot.
Clearly a clueless numpty, his musings on goalies can safely be ignored.

Hes not the finished product, I said this before we signed him, hes very young for a Keeper.

Hopefully our new GK coach isnt an utter clown.
Worked with Julio Cesar, Jan Oblak and Ederson so far.

Oblak and Ederson were young keepers when he worked with them too so hopefully he can work out the few kinks in Pickford's game.

Too short apparently, nonsense of course, football "pundits" think there's a player too short for every position but some of the best that's ever been have been very short.

There's pros and cons for every position for being too short

Gets beaten by a great shot in a game that doesn’t even matter and the media are already like this. God help him when we go out, they have anointed their scapegoat already.

Looking around the tournament and there’s been some shocking goalkeeping, the English media should be glad to have a goalie of the quality of Pickford. How quickly they forget their poster boy Joe Hart’s mistakes in major tournaments.

Thing with Pickford is he struggled with shots from outside the box, that's his weakness. Players who can get a bit of swerve and dip on the ball and he struggles,

Ok, he's no Southall but didn't we all know before a ball was kicked that he, like Jagielka and Baines last time, was going to be the scapegoat for the Big-6 besotted press. Equally, if Ing-er-land do get involved in a penalty shoot out and Jordan is lucky enough (cos that is what a lot of it is) to save one, they will brazenly say the opposite and that he's far too good for little old Everton.

Well done Southgate for sticking up for him.
