..Robles finger tips failed to get to Sturridge's last minute pea roller in last season's Derby at Goodison and the rest is history.

My concern with Pickford is his ability to take crosses. He doesn't appear to take a ball at it's highest point. Mind you, I thought the same about De Gea when he first joined United and I'm told Pickford is the same size as Southall. I genuinely wish him a long and successful career at Everton and I'm sure he'll blow my fears out of the water.

how about Robles ten clean sheets - that pea roller came through a crowd of non descript defenders eggs when pickford keeps ten clean sheets in a season that will prove we needed to spend all that money on him!

...I don't mind Robles, Joey. I thought he did a decent job and deserved his game ahead of Tim Howard in recent times. Saying that, I never felt entirely safe with him between the sticks. I have concerns about Pickford too but I accept he's the one RK and SW wanted and acquired. I have a feeling he might have a few shaky moments but I'm hoping he will develop into the fine keeper folk on here think he'll be.
 
I hope we give him time and patience as I think he will end up being a very good keeper for us.

There are clear faults to his game, but he is who we have bought now and we will invest time and coaching into him to iron those faults out.

But he's young, got a lot of potential and very agile. Think he'll have a good season once settled.

It would have been nice to get rid of the Stek letting Robles stay to fight for his place ten we have had decent back up even if Pickford gets injured we are in trouble ATM!

I think this is the key. He's come to us on the back of a season from hell at Sunderland where at times it looked like it was only him and Defoe who gave a toss. He will come to us with the confidence of having good players in front of him with a point to prove - and as you said, he is young and will make mistakes, but Koeman and Co. should be able to iron those out of him.

I have high hopes for Pickford.

..I'm sure that boat has sailed, Joey. Robles is not being offered a new contract and it appears he'll be off. My assumption is RK either prefers Steklenberg as back up or they are planning to bring another keeper in. They probably need 3 who are capable.

I think that's why he's trying to bring in this Room from Vitesse, after concluding that Stekelenburg is an abomination.

Robles is/was a liability. He is simply not good enough for Everton to compete or challenge. I don't understand what you see in him.

For us to go out and sign a goalkeeper for 30 big ones tells you all you need to know. We very much needed an upgrade in that department. The fact that Pickford was our first major signing of the summer cements that.
