Robles is/was a liability. He is simply not good enough for Everton to compete or challenge. I don't understand what you see in him.

For us to go out and sign a goalkeeper for 30 big ones tells you all you need to know. We very much needed an upgrade in that department. The fact that Pickford was our first major signing of the summer cements that.

Just got back from Kendal calling.

Loads of Mackems there, everywhere I went I ended up talking to some random from Sunderland.

Spoke to most of them about football, and every single one of them absolutely raved about Pickford. With passion.

I knew he was highly rated by them but seeing it in the flesh was an eye opener, they genuinely think he can become one of the best in the world

I don't think it says as much about the career as much as it says about the season he may have. Goalkeepers are under a tremendous amount of scrutiny and pressure. I hope he hits the ground running and doesn't take forever to adjust to the squad. Fortunately for us he has at least played in the league.
