When the pen was conceded he was right up flipping ( I thinking DCL ) for not kicking it out when he had a chance. Great that, not arsed about the decision but arsed about the lack of concentration that led to a situation where a pen was given away

Southall called him as being special early on, and wanted us to go for him.

Have to say, if he has half the career for us nev had then we will be watching the second best keeper the clubs ever had.

Seems to have the ability and attitude a top player needs, seeing him yell out at 30 year old players with 300+ top flight games under there belts who've captained their countries at world cups and European championships...

One regret is we never got the chance to see him call out lukaku like Williams did, think if he'd shushed pickford that way he'd have leathered him

His clumsy challenge in the first 10 minutes could have seen us out of that competition in one fell swoop...literally. And their goal was right at him and he lost the flight of the ball.

The jury is very much still out on a GK displaying decision making like that.

Have to agree,goal was straight down the middle and the pen was about as easy a save as you can make one.Early days to be getting carried away.

Not much he could do about the goal, but the penno save was just what the doctor ordered.
