Just think some forum members are looking at last night game and being honest. He could have give a needless penalty away, their goal went straight down the middle and any one of our previous keepers would have been crucified for letting it in.And he was fortunate to face a joke of a penalty. That doesn't mean he isn't an upgrade on what we've had and he'll prove to be an excellent buy.
No TV mate....did you listen to it on the radio ?
Their lad was given offside.
Their goal a wicked deflection.
Saves pen.....Any pen, boss save.

Oh and 2 other top draw saves , commanded his area ,distribution was excellent. Yet you want to find fault ( thats not there) ?
Very strange.

Was onside to be fair, we got lucky there.

..I'm not sure of the 'needless penalty' point. I know the lad was given off-side but the angle that the ball went suggests to me that Pickford got a good touch on it.

This is wrong in so many ways. You are actually criticising him.

1. Player was offside so no penalty n/a.
2. Flight of the ball was all over the place. It was a good goal difficult for any keeper.
3. The penalty.....If Pickford dived the other way it was a goal. Did what he wasn't expected to do and saved it. What else could he do.

Yet you are being critical

He has shown his worth so far and beyond. Yes he will concede between 40 - 60 goals this season so to scrutinise every goal conceded is going to be tiresome and mostly ridiculous. Yes there will be a few that maybe he could have done better but that applies to every keeper in the world.
I think the positives fans will be looking more at his saves and prevention of goals
You say critical I say honest, in that any other of our keepers would have been fumed at for conceding. And as for the penalty if he'd dived the other way it might not have even crossed the line it was so bad.

He looks really assured and makes saves. The one just before their goal was top notch. Great distribution too. If we can get another CB instead of the mistake prone Williams, then our defense will be pretty solid. Pickford and Keane have been the buys of the summer so far

Ha Ha Ha.

His clumsy challenge in the first 10 minutes could have seen us out of that competition in one fell swoop...literally. And their goal was right at him and he lost the flight of the ball.

The jury is very much still out on a GK displaying decision making like that.

Dave.

Jordan Pickford is the best Keeper I've seen at Everton since Nigel Martyn.

Already. That is indisputable.

Now we know what you're like and what your history is like with regards to claiming that Randy Lerner was 'the best Chairman in the league' ... but come on Dave.

Signed for £30 million. Looks about £50 million in value, already.

Despite us being utter tripe for all of last season. I think he only made one stupid error that I can think off.

Considering most games were like the Alamo that's not to bad. Sure, he will make a mistake soon enough, after all which keeper doesn't but you're in good hands and as I've said before he will save you a hell of a lot more points than he will cost you.

Really chuffed for the lad and the start he has made.

He's a credit to your youth academy mate.

No mistake.

Deflected shot that went all over the place, don't get me wrong here, when i first saw it live, I thought he should have saved it, on second viewing he had no chance. Brilliant keeper a snip at £30m will be England day number one no doubt. Great penalty save which made amends for the penalty that never was. What do you think of Siggys goal, wonderful or lucky ?
He shinned it.

Unreal. Two games in and you;d have some club pay another £20M for him.
