That makes no sense, did you watch him for Atletico?

If you watched him then you would put him in the same level as how Pickford plays.

He was more agile than Pickford and was a better shot stopper too. He was barely 20 at the time too. Pickford is now 23. De Gea was in the team of the year in 2012/13 when he was 22.

You’d expect a keeper to save a volley from 6 yards out?

Sound then, you complete and utter maniac.

“Zlatbro”.

It wasn’t really a volley though, was it. It was never about the power the shot. Just placement.

De Gea wasn't very good in his first season and a lot of your lot wanted him gone at the time.

Remember ?

1. He was 20

2. He struggled a bit initially but still was good overall that season. I still remember Kenny Dalglish mentioning after the Liverpool game in September or October ‘I thought this guy was supposed to be struggling’. Overall very few wanted him gone and by the second season he quickly established himself as first choice

Btw I didn’t say Pickford isn’t good. Just said that right now he is being made out for better than he actually is. Tbf that’s something English players are subjected to I suppose.

How do you feel about City being the dominant force in Manchester now Zlat? Generational these things, could be 30 years before you can compete with them.

The biggest concern for me is that he seems a tad short for a goalkeeper. Is he not the shortest first-choice Everton keeper since Southall? Don't think Pickford has the attributes that Southall had to make up for his lack of height.

To be honest if Liverpool had signed him, you can be sure he'd just be another inexperienced, crap, over rated english goalkeeper in the eyes of blues.

For the record I don't think he's crap, but he's done nothing to suggest he's great yet.

The team being poo in front of him isn't helping mind.

I'd personally have been bloody livid if they had signed him mate. Out of all the signings we've made, I said right from the off he'll be the best bit of business we do this season by a country mile
