I’ve met far too many Joey Barton type characters over the years, particularly on site. They’re all the exact same.

There’s a section of scouse lads who have to fill every room they enter with their over the top fake smile they copied from the Joker in Batman.

“Ye cryin, lad? Ahahaha am not arsed me. Do I look arsed? Thats coz am not arsed about anything me lad. Don’t put no effort in to nothing”

Yet, as soon as to give them a taste of their own medicine their face scrunches up like a puckered bum hole and the hatred flows like a very fast flowing river.

They all have that high pitched angry voice as well.
“OO AR YE TALKIN TO DERR?!?!? GET OUTSIDE NOW! OO AR YE TALIIN TOOO DEEERRRR”

I quite like the fact he was meditating and realigning his consciousness via dharma practice, the purpose of which is the calming of the mind and the dissolution of the ego; then an hour later was screaming at Ed Balls on Twitter that his kid is a tranny.

A charitable interpretation is he's a complex character.

One could also interpret his actions of those of a posturing moron.

Far be it from me to comment further.

I'd argue he's a time served posturing buffoon doing whatever he thinks will serve his interests best.

He's gone from hard-man straight talking challenger to England's midfield, to reformed misunderstood character post-conviction, to wannabee deep intellectual complete with philosophy quotes and an appearance on Newsnight and Question time... now we're on the culture wars grift gig.

That picture of him with Tommeh Robinson is so apt, birds of a feather etc. Remember Robinson cuddling up to the Quilliam foundation in an attempt to appear interested in peace and dialogue? Lol, didn't last long. Plus they (Quilliam) weren't without criticism, but that's a different debate.

Anyway, broad point is, these types shape-shift unconvincingly a lot.
