So is @chrismpwBarton is a frightful individual.
It wasn't a big thing really, he spat on me and my mate at a mini Derby when we were sitting in front of him and his mates.
No idea what he said, but got the gist. I've noticed that male football on free to air tv is largely presented by females now, and female football is almost exclusively presented by females. This seems unbalanced even if what they say is relevant, insightful and knowledgeable.
Relevant though. I'm watching football focus now, first time in several years. 90 odd league clubs that could be discussed in the tiby aurtime the bbc puts aside for the most popular sport in the world, but a lot of time has been spent/wasted watching a female footballer learning to play a piano with an orchestra. I'm sure there's a place for this, but I think the bbc need somebody to explain what the word "focus" means.
Unfortunately the media think a high profile player makes a top pundit, both in the mens and womens game. There will be much better pundits that had a lower profile career, but no media will employ them. How many average players have made great managers, a lot more than top players have. Unfortunately punditry goes the opposite way.The gender thing gets played up too much as it's disguises quality.
90% of punditry, presentation, and commentary is garbage Male or female.
Laura Woods for example is a massive upgrade to Jake Humphreys. Eni Eluko is on par with Paul Merson. I'd probably listen to Karen Carney or Emma Hayes over the vacuum of blandness that is Jermaine Jenas if given the option.
So to me, gender isn't a factor. It's what they say and how they present.
Talking about co-coms...McCoist and Tyldesley is the bar. Everyone else is just a downgrade.
Agree mate. The gender thing gets played up too much as it's disguises quality.

I think ring piece is the phrase you're looking for GT.Barton is a frightful individual.
The knitting comment was in response to Barton's post when he said he shouldn't be able to talk about knitting or netball.Have to say although I think Barton is a knob I agree with him on this as do the majority of women football fans I know.
I see the woman commentator in the Everton v Newcastle game when two players were having a stand off she said "they should stick to knitting", imagine if a male commentator said that during a women's game
