Ancelotti said we wanted him as he can play all the forward positions, that includes the right where we are weakest. He has said numerous times that he is fit to start a game and then doesn't even get off the bench.

Carlo has also rotated nearly every player in the squad, but after the saints game where richie was kicked to pieces and dcl ran himself into the ground chasing lost causes, he still didn't rotate him in.
I do not know the reason for his lack of playing time. One reason may be because he has not impressed in training, and another reason may be because he has not fit into Ancelotti's tactics.

Personally I would play with Richarlison, DCL and King in 4-3-3 / 4-5-1. formation. Not necessarily because King is a player who will revolutionize Everton's attack, but because I consider him better than the alternatives. They have also been given the chance repeatedly, without impressing.

But if the reason is because he is not considered good enough, then this is another case where the scouting of Everton has not been quality assured enough. Then we should instead prioritize our own talents, and give them this minimal playing time. Or kept Tosun. Our player logistics are not very impressive, and it seems that King is another example.

Needs a few starts before we decide doesn't seem he was fit when we signed him.
Carlo has said several times he is fit to start. He also takes the stance that players only make the bench if they are fit to start a game. He isn't, which begs the question why? As we have tried various combinations of forward lines and it hasnt worked, and he still hasn't had a look in.

He is 3rd choice for a striking position so needs 2 players ahead of him to get injuries if we play just 1 up top, this could have happened so his signing was the right thing to do. He is more of a forward so in the games where we have been playing a right midfielder he is not really suited to that role. If we had been playing 4-3-3 where there is less onus on defence I would have said he should have been given a go. £5 million and wages is a relatively small out lay and he may yet be needed in the run in as you never know what could happen to Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison.

Absolutely pointless signing by the looks of it. Actually thought he could offer something to us but Ancelotti obviously doesn’t rate him.
