King is not a long-term solution. Still, I'm a little surprised he's not got more playing time. We are a team that struggles to create chances, and lacks much of the skills that King possesses.

King himself says he is in good shape and is ready to play. However, there are 10 games left, and I'm sure he's given more playing time. But judging him by what he has played so far is madness
Based on what we have seen so far, if we were a team that were making chances but not converting then King could be useful. Whether we have King, Siggurdsson, Iwobi, Bernard playing wide left, it doesnt really change the problem of us not controlling midfield and creating chances.

That's probably why he's not getting much time.

A very low-risk signing financially, that didn’t work out. C’est la vie.

Much more palatable than the multiple big money dossers we’ve had lounging about the club over the last few years.

...absolutely. A sensible piece of business & encouraging the club are looking elsewhere for an ‘alternative’ striker. We need somebody who can make a difference, be it from the bench or covering for injuries/suspension.

Kean and King have not demonstrated they can fill the void, i imagine this will be a key position in the summer.

King is first and foremost a player who can create chances, and the biggest downside to him is that he scores too few goals.

King was still on the bench in Norways last but one game against Turkey when they were 2 nil down after 65 or 70 minutes. Not sure if he came on, but the reality is if he doesnt start for Norway, or is used early in the second half, then that surely sums him up.

He has came off the bench their last 2 games, Turkey and Montenegro. Norway have a decent forward line, If he sees himself as a striker he's got to oust one of Haaland or Sorloth (who has been very good recently)

And yet everytime he's come on he's not looked like doing anything...Not all his fault, our midfield is trash most of the time.

He needs a run of games of course for a fair judgement but doesn't look like he'll get them, can't be impressing that much in training and hasn't done much on the pitch (not even in small periods)

He competes with Haaland, who has been completely useless for the national team in recent matches, and Sørloth (Leipzig), who has been the best player in the last three matches.

He's done OK in a few games to be fair to him. I don't think he's a player who's going to come off the bench and change a game with a moment of genius or whatever, he's just a decent workmanlike forward who might be able to use his attributes to make a bit of a difference every now and again. We need better in the long term but if he contributes to a couple of results between now and the end of the season he'll have done his job.

A bit unfair, I didn't want the guy and expected this course of events but he's hardly had a chance to show what he can do. Nobody, no matter how good you are can impress with ten mins here and there.

He's got the same problem as Moise, he can't get the minutes to try and establish himself.
But that's on him to prove he is worth the minutes. He is an experienced PL player, so it shouldn't be a surprise to Carlo or anyone about his capabilities. But if he can't get a look in when we are desperately short of players (evidenced by our benches recently) and iwobi and Bernard (who have both been fairly awful) are ahead of him, and then davies and other get put out wide, I'd argue he is looking abysmal in training.

Of course, but it could also be because Ancelotti prioritises the defensive phase, and he sees him primarily as a competitor to DCL and Richarlison.

Ancelotti said we wanted him as he can play all the forward positions, that includes the right where we are weakest. He has said numerous times that he is fit to start a game and then doesn't even get off the bench.

Carlo has also rotated nearly every player in the squad, but after the saints game where richie was kicked to pieces and dcl ran himself into the ground chasing lost causes, he still didn't rotate him in.
