20 yard goals and diagonal passes were scholes' trademark. Also it was more Gerard and Lampaed who kept Carrick out. Milner mainly played out wide.

Sort of agree with the main point of the post though!

Scholes and Carrick were multiple league winners playing in multiple champions league finals, yet were routinely left out of their best position or not even picked for England to accommodate Gerrard a player that played for a side finishing fourth or lower most of his career. He had a better media image though than the likes of Carrick because he was an impact player whereas Carrick and Scholes just controlled the midfield of multiple title winning sides. Until we value those sort of players over the headline grabbers, England and Everton won't win anything.

Take the blue specs off mate. Gerrard is twice the player Carrick was/is.

Bloke I know (Utd supporter) has a friend who works at the club and has heard that Mourinho has agreed a plan with Mata to use him for Europa League and Cup games.

Mourinho wants an 11 for league games so they get back into CL and an 11 for Europe and FA Cup.
