judge us at the end of the transfer window – not now

Where’s the creativity & goals coming from ????‍♂️ Grays started ok but he’ll have his post 10 game drop in form then go missing, it’s inevitable, Iwobi gives 100% & attempts to make things happen but let’s not kid ourselves he’s no Kevin De Bruyne, Onana will bring something different to midfield, but goals I’m not sure ? Gueye & Garner mainly there to clean up, SO that puts all the pressure on our only real creative player AG, it’s a lot of responsibility game in game out for someone who’s having his proper breakout season, Maupay will score his obligatory 8 goals & then there’s Dom, we might get 15 games out him this season, that’s maybe another 8 goals, I still believe we are in a relegation scrap & BADLY needed this forward?

9 weeks to get Maupay in to replace Richarlison.

McNeill is poor.

Vinagre I dont even expect to see play.

Coady and Tarkowski are ok

Onana who knows really...ditto Garner.

Gueye ok if he still has the legs.

So you stand outside the arena again chucking bricks in.

Just for fun Dave, name the players you'd have brought in, when, and how much you'd have paid - to make this a 'satisfactory' window.

Just one catch - you have to pretend you're Everton.

We have strengthened the defence and midfield but the attack where it matters we don't have enough. We are now very reliant on Dom staying fit, Maupay producing and Gordon and Gray chipping in. Classic Everton gamble only positive is it's a few months till the next window with the world cup this year. Just hope we aren't struggling badly by then, how they didn't use either of the loans still baffles me.

Lampard has been backed. He's got his own team now which is amazing considering our financial position has been so bad. Despite the activity though I still feel underwhelmed.

Coady and Tarkowski improve the defence. Vinagre is a decent back up option. Garner and Onana sound good but lack top level experience and whilst they could develop into great players we need them to do it quickly. Gana is interesting. At his best he's a great addition but I see a lot of people commenting on his efforts post world cup and it's definitely a possibility.

Maupay doesn't excite me. He'll bring hard work, which should be a given, but he won't bring many goals and we look very short of them in this squad. McNeil looks to be a poor buy but hopefully he'll prove me wrong.

André Gomes leaving is my favourite piece of business.

I think the squad is stronger but is it that much stronger? We're still one of the teams that will be in a fight near the bottom of the table.

I think we had a good window. It would've been perfect with another Striker. And I didn't like we left our striker search until so late. And the board/recruitment seemingly place reliance on an injured DCL (again!). If Gray or Gordon injured - we are pretty much screwed.

But we signed 8 players for about 90mil-100mil. Considering the inflated market. It is actually not a bad figure. And we signed players who are under 23 and not willing to overpay on certain players we were linked to.

It may have gone under the radar a bit but we managed to move deadwoods in Gomes, Alli, and Gbamin. We would've ship out M.Keane too if not for the injuries. And now we have a bench which we could actually use!

Overall it is good but not amazing window.

We've conceded five already and looked shaky at the back so far. I'm not convinced we're the defensive rock some people are painting us as.
6, but I think we are solid. Also look at the 3 teams above us 2 goals scored and 4 points that won't continue for them either

Good post ?

It's that lack of creativity that concerns me. There's no vision apart from what Gordon brings. We're like a top end Championship outfit its so workmanlike and drab.
In the past 2 games alone we have had Onana play a through ball to Gray at Brentford to put him 1 on 1, Iwobi through to Gordon Vs Leeds which he scored from and Gordon through to Gray for the marginally offside goal.

That's evidence of us having creativity

Less creativity than ever
That’s what I see
Vs Brentford - Onana through ball to Gray, 1 on 1 with the Keeper, should've scored

Vs Leeds - Iwobi through to Gordon = Goal

Vs Leeds - Gordon through to Gray = Goal (offside by an inch)

Vs Leeds - Gordon through to Patterson, 1 on 1, should've scored

We have creativity.

It was going all too well just 1 or 2 more forwards and i think it would of been almost perfect.

Still happy with the squad compared to what we finished last season with.
It is what it is, they key is fitness but either way im confident we will be 9-12th this season.

Remember this league is gash outside of 7 or 8 teams so nothing to worry about.

Every team misses chances, that will continue, you can’t deny, we are dominated every week, how is that going to change? By becoming better with backs to the wall?

Don’t ignore that we’ve rode our luck in those games too, posts hit etc.

We’re desperately predictable, stop Gordon, stop Everton.
