Juve where 12 clear when they won the league mate, napoli closing by 3 points after that point was irrelevant, as Juve had already won it.

As for saying they have no hope and comparing them to City and United.

City and United both can outspend Chelsea, neither would lose their star player to Chelsea either (like Napoli did with Higuain)

Both City and United have a lot of trophies in recent years, Napoli last won the league when Maraddona was snorting Italian coke.

It finished with 9 points difference all things being equal.

I know Juventus is highly likely to walk the league each year but saying that Napoli isn't a contender is laughable. They are the second best team in the country and after Juventus would probably be considered by most as the most likely team to win Serie A.

Obviously there are going to be some more favoured to challenge than others though.

Napoli is the second best team in Italy (I know Roma is in second, I saw the table).

13-14 season Roma 2nd, Napoli 3rd (7 behind Roma)
14-15 season Roma 2nd, Napoli 5th - 7 behind Roma
15-16 season Napoli 2nd, Roma 3rd (2 behind Napoli)
16-17 season Roma 2nd Napoli 3rd (4 behind Roma)

No Mate last 4 years show that napoli are in no way shape or form the 2nd best Italian team, that would be Roma.

They arent second best mate, last 4 years they finished 2nd once, then Juve slapped them into place by buying their best player and top scorer off them.

14-15 - Juve finisehd 24 ahead of Napoli
15-16 Juve finished 9 ahead of Napoli
16-17 Juve currently 12 ahead with 5 games left

Sound, bet he doesn't sign for us. This last hour has reminded me why I resist talking about transfers.

I get ya I get ya, but in all seriousness the thread is open because we have a chance at the guy, we offered big money this past summer and it was rejected by the team, not him. They have said he is free to leave if he wants and Moshiri has said he likes him so we will probably make another big offer. There is always a chance...

No, don't see why A) He'd sign for anyone not in the champions league, or B) Why we should spend £60m on one defender no matter how good he is.

I'd much rather spend £60m on a combination of Keane/VVD/Gibson, which would do us the world of good.

Point A is going to continue to be an issue IMO. So either we get lucky, or massively overpay.

Point B I agree with...although to get top talent to come, see previous sentence.
