If he'd join Newcastle, he'd join us. Well, I would hope so anyway.

Looks good for me. Champions League here we come!

Anyway, with Katidis this squad would be even more boss.. He will come hopefully.

On the Fellaini mention earlier... M'Vila for £15-18m or Fellaini for £30m. Think Arsenal will choose M'Vila.
Also, to Kay20.. Pienaar wont be here in Jan due to South Africa being hosts of the ACN. But, Mirallas on the left and Donovan on the right still sounds tasty!

Crud. I totally forgot.

I think with both LD and Mirallas here and with pace, it gives Pienaar the opportunity to go central. Now, that does break up the Pienaar and Baines bromance, but I think LD could do just fine there. Gives us the opportunity to have all three on the pitch at the same time and gives us something we've always been missing: SPEED!

February could just be orgasmic!

I love how we are all trying to tap down the optimism in this thread. It's like we are too scared to be optimistic. I understand why, but it's still kinda funny.

Ever since we were a medical from signing Fernandes, I try not to get too excited until its all confirmed!

Am i the only one not quite getting the hysteria surrounding us possibly signing this guy ? he had a good season last year but prior to that he had an absolutely terrible goals per game ratio, one good season in a subpar league and he's now amazing and a great signing ?

ill happily admit i know next to nothing about the guy other than the stats and his youtube video looks promising (dont they all though ?) but none of the arsenal fans seem particularly arsed about possibly signing him.

why all the hype ?

We have two "OK" players at right back - Hibbert and Neville. And a prospect in Coleman.

To be honest, if we signed another right back it'd just increase the chances of Neville being shoehorned into midfield. As, naturally, Neville plays no matter what.

I don't see that position as a priority. Bizarrely I'd still say the priority is attacking midfield/striker even with the Mirallas signing as Pienaar is away at the ACN in January.

So if we bring in Niang (which is fine, as we're only going to play one striker and Jelavic/Anichebe/Niang is good enough moving forward with Mirallas as well) then we're completely sorted til January; when, of course, we bring in Landon on loan.

To summarise, if we sign Niang or some other striker, then I'm very happy with the squad and it'll be the best squad we've had in many years.

Agreed. If Moyes gets more than half the Rodwell money I will be surprised. Presuming that we get Mirallas for £5.3m and we take the upper valuation of Rodwell (£15m), that would leave us with £2.2m to play around with. If Jelavic gets injured we don't have anyone who could convincingly lead the line, so Moyes might be looking for someone lowkey to cover that role. Niang doesn't fit the bill and sounds like a fall back in case the Mirallas deal didn't come off.

Davey seems happy with his options at right back and I don't see him recruiting for that position. I think he's settled with his starting eleven once we seal the deal for the Belgian winger and that he'll be looking for a couple of loans or bosmans to boost certain areas, possibly including left back. It would be a surprise if he spent any money on squad men at this stage unless they were utility players and would be likely to get a game in a few different positions.

i dont understand it either, the way we have all went on about this is quite cringey tbh, i think its just because hes picking us over the arse, he looks a decent player and please god let him score 20 next season
