Kevin Mirallas

Completely unacceptable behaviour from mirallas. Good teams always beat good individuals and Kev has sadly shown he feels he is better than the team. It's not the particular act but the attitude it is indicative of that irks me - we need to be a team and for that reason this needs to be stamped on either by dropping him for a prolonged period or selling him.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez, speaking to Sky Sports: "Our penalty taker is Leighton Baines but in the same way we had a penalty-shoot out against West Ham in the FA Cup, Kevin Mirallas took the penalty really well and wanted to take it. He wanted to take the penalty and Leighton was happy to let him do that.

"Nothing else apart from it was an unfortunate kick, missing the target. Both players have enough quality, personality and character to convert at that moment.

"At that moment Kevin felt really confident and wanted to take it. For me, Leighton is the number one penalty taker. At that point I would have been happy for the two players to discuss it. There are a few penalty takers in the squad and they could have stepped up in that moment, the big disappointment is we missed the penalty, not who took it.

"He [Mirallas] was not feeling 100%, he felt his hamstring straight after the penalty. That was the reason for the substitution."

He's got nothing to gain by airing it in public. Anything he says would just fuel the media that's just happy to create drama and make up stories. They probably haven't had a talk yet either at the time of the interview.

Which is fine but instead of saying he wasn't fit how about at least saying he wasn't happy with what happened and it will be dealt with within the club.

Edit - If the above is true why is an unfit player with a dodgy hamstring taking penalties anyway?

The players selfish act cost the club 2 points.

He owes it to the fans and the rest of the playing squad to come out and say that it was a call that was out of order, hence the hook at HT and it'll be dealt with internally.

A load of horseshit from Martinez then. Getting tired of his after match comments, I try to avoid them but they keep being posted on here.
