Kevin Mirallas

Which is fine but instead of saying he wasn't fit how about at least saying he wasn't happy with what happened and it will be dealt with within the club.

Edit - If the above is true why is an unfit player with a dodgy hamstring taking penalties anyway?
The diplomatic hamstring seemed to have happened after the penalty, up to then he was proably not 100% because of the ankle injury that he got vs Stoke that has been troubling him.

As for why he took the penalty - have to ask Kev that as it clearly wasn't in the plans going by the other players reactions.

Both Naismith and Martinez handled a very difficult PR situation correctly. The real inquest will be behind closed doors, as it should be. Interesting that Naismith obviously has Martinez trust...they must have cobbled together their joint responses to Neville and Carragher very quickly.....and significant also that Jagilela was nowhere to be seen post match. Unlikely we will see much more of Mirallas, unless there is an obvious apology from him thats acceptable to Martinez . Lets not forget that neither of those are the most brutal operator at GP.....that is Bill Kenwright without a doubt, when neccessary.

Come as close as he can to confirming he's not happy - "Leighton is the penalty taker" - without drop-kicking the dressing room into disarray.

I agree with this - I think he can't say he was benched because he was selfish - If he was (selfish) and Martinez lied about the benching it preserves some level of bargaining power with other clubs (assuming he's played his last game). If he says he was benched and we'll deal with discipline or something other than we have no bargaining power from a transfer perspective. Granted I am not happy about it being spun - But he has absolutely no choice. If we are Man U with the ability to take a massive loss on a player than we are in a different position. We can't devalue our assets intentionally. If he was hurt and I don't believe there is any way he was - then so be it. If it turns out after he was dealt that is when you will hear and it will be from someone like Naismith (poacher, Great Heart, but can't pick a pass to save his life).

I believe that Jags failed as a captain more than anything, we need McCarthy back and he will be Captain next year provided we keep him, [nervous laughter].

Sorry for the rambling but so disappointed it is hard to form a coherent thought.

Same old record, contributing nothing to the current discussion...ah well........

Right. "Injuries".

To me, he plays only for himself. He's looking for a move. Tried to be a hero. Ballsed it up.

Rightly subbed. So he can nurse his " injury" all he wants.

Shithouse. As with all the other players.
