Just read that apparently he was desperate to score because he had a shirt with a picture of Junior Malanda on it underneath. Would make sense, really.

Absolutely. Although that justification would make more sense than 'he wanted to score a penalty so Tottenham would sign him'.

I'm finding it hard to believe that he did it for his own sake, and to get a move, the players wouldve known about the t-shirt so maybe Baines didnt want to deny him that opportunity, as much as he's guilty of going against team orders so is Baines for letting him take it and also the Captain.
For all we know he may have spoken to Baines before the game about it or agreed that if winning he would get the opportunity to score from either a free kick or pen.

I suppose I don't want to think bad of him really.

Agreed, we should move on from it now. Mirallas when fit has been the difference for us this season. I personally don't hold any grudges against him.

Yes, agree it's time to move on. Wasn't happy with him on Monday, but we better keep supporting him. Afterall he's most probably the one who will bring the fight to the RS in a few weeks time.
